The course gives insight and theoretical foundation in principles, languages, and tools used to construct large complex software systems, and contributes to developing a professional attitude towards software development.
Learning outcomes
After the course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the activities requirements engineering, architectural and low-level design, implementation, validation and verification.
- Describe the difference between common software life cycle models.
- In simple examples use some selected, established notations and tools to support the activities above.
- Describe how software quality can be addressed in each of these activities.
- Describe the basic conditions for software engineering research.
